Welcome to HonkeBankyu

HonkeBankyu is surrounded by beautiful nature, so you can relax and feel connected with the rivers and the mountains. Located about 3 hours away from Tokyo, this Ryokan was established in 1666 as a healing hot spring inn at Yunishigawa riverside in Nikko.
Cross the "Kazura Suspension Bridge" and slip into Japan’s ancient past. Awaiting you on the other side is a sumptuous feast in a hidden restaurant inspired by the Heiki Samurai hiding place in the olden days. We offer “irori" which is an open hearth grill cuisine and “kaiseki”, a traditional Japanese course comprised of different dishes.

At Honke Bankyu ryokan, every effort is made to make guests feel comfortable. The hotel has a riverside hot spring spa and private open-air baths designed for healing and relaxation. Facilities include Wi-Fi in public areas, a lounge, and car park. Every guest room has a view of the river, has an LCD screen TV, air conditioning and purifier, heating, washlet toilet, and Japanese yukata (light kimono) for each guest.
Having existed for over 350 years the hotel has a nostalgic atmosphere that transcends space and time. Honke Bankyu Hotel is a smart choice for travelers to Tochigi who want to have a relaxing stay in a hotel that is a historical attraction in itself.
